A much more ancient Greek myth says that King Oedipus blinded himself out of a sense of guilt, because he had children with his mother.
They met at school, where he was nicknamed Lolek, and when he was 16 they appeared in a classical play about King Oedipus.
Years later Thebes is terrorized by a vile plague and King Oedipus vows to rid the city of the terrorizing plague.
