Kiwanis Club honors kindergartner as `hero' SPRINGFIELD - Rhylie Sevits, a kindergartner at Mount Vernon Elementary School, earned a Pacific Northwest District of Kiwanis International Everyday Hero Award from the Emerald Empire Kiwanis Club, given for "rendering service beyond what is ordinary or expected and for doing so without regard for attention or receiving in return.
