Kor·sa·koff's syndrome  (kôrs-kôfs, -kfs)
n.
A syndrome of severe mental impairment characterized by multiple neuritis, confusion, disorientation, and amnesia in which memory of recent events is especially impaired, often causing the patient to attempt to compensate through confabulation. Also called Korsakoff's psychosis.
