Langton [ˈlæŋtən] n (Biographies / Langton, Stephen (?1150-1228) M, English, RELIGION: clergyman, POLITICS: statesman) Stephen. ?1150-1228, English cardinal; archbishop of Canterbury (1213-28). He was consecrated archbishop by Pope Innocent III in 1207 but was kept out of his see by King John until 1213.
