| The thirty-two drawings of Variaciones sobre circuitos (Variations on circuits), 1998, by Madrid artist Diana Larrea, are each keyed to a different permutation of Bach's aria in the Goldberg Variations, making Larrea's work a kind of metacomposition. RAMIRO LARREA, president of the country's anti-corruption office, formally requested that deposed President Jamil Mahuad and six of his economic advisers be prosecuted for abuse of executive power and violation of constitutional law. The two biologists devised a system of interlocking, partially transparent growth boxes that allowed them to observe interactions between the roots of two desert shrubs: the common creosote bush Larrea tridentata and the so-called burro weed Ambrosia dumosa. |
