In their opinion, obesity caused by a leptin deficiency would result in a higher incidence of knee OA.
Now new research reported online August 26 in Proceedings of the Royal Society B suggests that higher levels of the hormone leptin may fool a hamster's brain into thinking there is energy to spare.
