On November 26, 1900, the principal light keeper noticed a fishing boat in distress and fired a rocket to summon the lifeboat from Portpatrick, which took the crew off the stricken vessel and towed the boat into the harbour.
The multimillion dollar restoration features an educational museum, replica of dwelling of Light keepers.
Today, Patricia keeps up her links with her past life through membership of the Association of Light Keepers, the World Lighthouse Society and, of course, the Friends of St Mary's Lighthouse.
