An antioxidant by the name of alpha lipoic acid has shown great promise in reducing the painful effects of diabetic neuropathy.
While experimenting on rats, the researchers found that supplements of lipoic acid lowered triglyceride levels up to 60 percent.
Of those they have studied, the best results were seen with green tea catechins, curcumin from turmeric, alpha lipoic acid (notable sources are spinach and broccoli) and resveratrol from red grapes.
