His new discovery, Lithophane leeae, was found it in the Chiracahua Mountains east of Tucson.
In another era, it is worth recalling, lithophane images at the bottom of beer mugs rewarded topers with a visual treat when the liquid had been quaffed and the mug was tipped up to get the last drops.
