He once landed a Latecoere so hard that he essentially broke its back, snapping two of the four metal fuselage longerons.
Due to their age, another part could fail even after the longerons are repaired.
Formers and longerons are used for building the fuselage, and spars and ribs for the wings and tail surfaces.
