The production will feature sets, props and special effects galore and the group is going on a sponsored Lunar Walk in both costume and non-costume, on September 20, to raise funds for the play.
The two Apollo 17 astronauts, Eugene Cernan and Harrison Schmitt, completed their third lunar walk after a short ceremony in which they bade farewell to the moon and unveiled a small commemorative plaque at the Taurus-Littrow valley.
The two men performed all but one-and that minor-of the tasks assigned to them for their lunar walk, including collecting soil and rock samples, placing a special laser beam reflector, planting the flag and unveiling a plaque announcing that man came in peace to the moon in July, 1969.
