They include ragged robin, Lychnis flos-cuculi, with blooms of deep pink or white and ragged petals; dusty miller, Lychnis coronaria, with silver-grey foliage and bright pink or white flowers; flower of Jove, Lychnis flos-jovis, which forms a mat of grey-green leaves and bears red, white or pink blooms and Lychnis chalcedonica, with clusters of scarlet flowers on stems up to 1.
Lychnis flos-cuculi `Jenny', is double-flowered form of the native perennial ragged robin, producing large fluffy pink flowers with a paler centre and white markings.
