A mountain range of extreme southwest Ireland. It rises to 1,041.3 m (3,414 ft) at Carrantuohill, which is the island's highest peak.

It comes after a full-scale search and rescue operation on Saturday when a hired car was left overnight at the foot of a walking spot in the Glencar area of Macgillycuddy's Reeks, Co Kerry.
Set a little way out of busy Killarney, it afforded great views of Ireland's highest mountains - the wonderfully-named Macgillycuddy's Reeks.
This dramatic glacial valley, carved out of red sandstone,cuts between the MacGillycuddy's Reeks mountains and Purple and Tomies mountains,and the views are simply awesome.
