 (măl′ən), Mary Known as "Typhoid Mary." 1869-1938.
Irish-born American cook and healthy carrier of typhoid fever who infected about 50 people with the disease. She was apprehended and quarantined at a hospital on an island in the East River from 1915 until her death.
