If your garden borders on woods you may have woodpeckers, marsh tits, coal tits and nuthatches visiting your bird feeders.
Species such as the willow tit, marsh tit, barbastelle bat, Bechstein's bat, pearl-bordered fritillary butterfly and dormouse all rely on ancient woodland to survive.
The Forestry Commission in partnership with the RSPB is offering financial support to landowners and managers to improve the habitat for 14 vulnerable species, including redstart, tree pipit, spotted flycatcher and marsh tit.
