Penderyn was wrongly convicted of the attempted murder of soldier Donald Black during the Merthyr Riots of 1831.
It is the latest in a series of union attacks on the Government In a speech to a rally in Cardiff to commemorate Dic Penderyn, sentenced to death for his part in the Merthyr Riots of 1831, Mr Touhig will attack Labour members ``queuing up to condemn Labour in government.
Mr Touhig was joined by other speakers, including the First Minister Rhodri Morgan, at the event in memory of Penderyn - also known as Richard Lewis - who was hung for his part in the 1831 Merthyr Riots.
