The jejunum is divided 10 to 15 cm distal to the ligament of Treitz, and a 100-cm Roux-en-Y is created that is brought up through the transverse mesocolon and anastomosed to the gastric pouch.
The transverse mobile colon is attached to the stomach with the help of a wide band of tissue called mesocolon.
Other signs of nonresectability include peripancreatic lymphadenopathy, hepatic metastases, and peritoneal carcinomatosis, the latter usually associated with either infiltration of the root of the mesentery or the transverse mesocolon.
