The late Urban Allen, FPSA, said about this man's mind, "At age 76 it combines the speed of Metol, the depth of hydroquinone and the energy of sodium carbonate--with just a touch of acid for buffering.
Most modern developers contain a combination of developing agents or reducers, and one formula may have, for example a high percentage of hydroquinone to produce brilliant photographic images while another formula may use a larger ratio of metol to produce softer results.
