Toronto, Canada and Hayward, CA 8/15/01--MDS has entered into a strategic alliance with Signature BioScience to develop and commercialize a microwave spectroscopy instrument for the proteomics and drug discovery research markets.
Though they find the existing evidence "significant and compelling," Hulet and his colleagues plan to do microwave spectroscopy on the atom cloud to get a more direct, highly resolved image of the condensate.
The concept for the invention, based on Stamm's expertise in microwave frequency identification, will use microwave spectroscopy (a spin-off technology used in NASA's late Apollo space program) to identify malignant cells and, in turn, may make it possible for widespread economic screening of all livestock, dead or alive.
