Cowell was worth more than his pal, retail tycoon Sir Philip Green, who went for pounds 18,000 at the Krug Mind Share bash at auction house Christie's in London.
Cowell, who works for Sony BMG, donated the money to children's hospices after the Krug Mind Share auction in London on Thursday.
The X Factor judge, along with other big names including Topshop tycoon Sir Philip Green and author Sir Salman Rushdie, put their names on the auction list to help the Krug Mind Share charity event.
