Montauk Point
The eastern extremity of Long Island, in southeast New York. It is a popular resort area.

The Ambrose Channel SST-BT estimators were used to estimate average monthly bottom temperatures at Montauk Point (Table 2).
Montauk Point is the easternmost point of Long Island and is best known for striper fishing.
It also has a lot of history: The Montauk Point Lighthouse was opened in 1787, and Montauk Point is where Teddy Roosevelt and his 30,000 Rough Riders landed after the Spanish-American War.
