A true Morton's neuroma is painful with tight shoes and relief is obtained almost immediately by removing the shoe and rubbing the affected area.
They discovered the Ospreys sensation had been struggling with a common but benign condition known as Morton's Neuroma - a thickening of the tissue that surrounds nerves leading up to the toes - and that this was being compounded by the sheer width of his size 14 feet.
I go through them at the rate of about four pairs a year, because of something called Morton's Neuroma.
