Summary: An Italian judge has sentenced 23 former CIA agents to up to eight years in prison for the abduction of a Muslim cleric in 2003.
The resolution asking Muslims not to sing the national song was passed at the national convention of the Jamiat, one of the largest groups of Muslim clerics in India, held at Darul Uloom Deoband, one the largest Muslim seminaries in South Asia, about 150 km from the national capital.
Muslim cleric Abdullah Mohammed, 41, died from the effects of smoke inhalation and his wife, Aysha, 39, daughter Siddiqah, 14, and son Muhammad, nine, are seriously ill in hospital.
