Etravirine, in its limited usage, seems to have a relatively clean toxicity profile, as well as working against virus that carries key NNRTI mutations.
Further, as late as 2001, 96% of all treatment regimens in Greenland included an unboosted PI (26% in Denmark), and in 2002 only 7% were NNRTI based (40% in Denmark).
Note: The ARV combinations recommended by the World Health Organization consist of two NsRTIs and either one NNRTI or one protease inhibitor.
