A historical region of central Spain that combined with Old Castile to the north to form the kingdom of Castile. It was united with Aragon after the marriage of Ferdinand and Isabella (1469).

1675-1700 from New Castile, Spain, one of a small number of surviving examples whose design is taken from the etchings of Johannes Stradanus: Venationes ferarum, avium, piscium, etc: 1578, which was copied by Argote de Molina: Libro de la Monteria, Sevilla, 1582.
