New Harmony
A village of southwest Indiana on the Wabash River west-northwest of Evansville. Founded in 1814 by the Harmony Society led by George Rapp, it was the site (1825-1828) of a utopian community established by Robert Owen. The colony was known for its progressive educational, intellectual, and scientific ideas. Population: 884.
