De Voto says that in 1835, "The Oglalas had moved within striking distance of the Pawnees, their immemorial enemies, and were constantly raiding them.
There were more than 250 Oglalas who went into Wounded Knee on the night of February 27, 1973.
Additionally, certain southern Teton groups, mainly Oglalas at Pine Ridge, produced a limited amount of couched overlay contour work, including stylized floral beadwork with solidly beaded backgrounds.
