Bradley is an Oliver Hazard Perry class frigate, homeported in Mayport, Fla.
Built as a low-cost antidote to the Soviet sub threat against slower, lower priority sub targets (cargo, tankers, underway replenishment ships, amphibious assault vessels) the Oliver Hazard Perry (FFG-7) class of guided-missile patrol frigates surpassed its modest expectations and has by far outlasted the Cold War missions originally envisioned.
The US Navy plans to conduct the technical evaluation of the Fire Scout onboard a USS Oliver Hazard Perry class frigate in early 2009 and operational evaluations in summer 2009.
