A filmmaking technique in which the action on screen is slower than normal, achieved by filming at a speed faster than the standard rate and then projecting the film at the standard speed.

So much so that director Pierre Morel (the cinematograpaher on such Besson productions as ``Unleashed'' and ``The Transporter'') claims he had to overcrank camera for some of the fight scenes, so audiences would actually have enough time to see all that's going on when they watch the film.
