[Middle English parchemin, parchement (influenced by Medieval Latin pergamentum), from Old French parchemin, from Late Latin pergamna, variant of Latin pergamna, from feminine of Pergamnus, of Pergamum, from Greek Pergamnos, after Pergamon (Pergamum).]
