A method of betting, as on a horserace, in which the bettor must correctly pick those finishing in the first and second places in precisely that sequence. Also called perfecta.

THE coupling of horses in the French parimutuel betting system could be consigned to history after France-Galop revealed their intent to scrap the rule in a bid to boost turnover, writes Desmond Stoneham.
California's tracks were Depression-era innovations, made possible by the state's desire to increase revenue by taxing racetrack betting and by the public's desire for the rags-to-riches opportunity that parimutuel betting promised.
In 2003, they were added to the parimutuel betting card.
