The bill also would revise the tax credit--slated to expire at the end of 2009--from a "blender" credit given for blending biodiesel with petroleum diesel fuel to a production credit, "so that incentives are given for building the domestic production industry," a Cantwell news release said.
Technically, biodiesel is a fatty acid methyl ester, a flammable compound that mixes well with petroleum diesel.
