n.1.(Zool.) A common European duck (Aythya ferina); - called also goldhead, poker, and fresh-water widgeon, or red-headed widgeon.

Scaup poachard
the scaup duck.
Tufted poachard
a scaup duck (Aythya cristata, or Fuligula cristata), native of Europe and Asia.
