A white polyamide, (-CH2CHCONH2-), related to acrylic acid.


polyacrylamide  (pl--krl-md)
A white, water-soluble polymer containing repeating units of acrylamide (C3H5NO)and related to acrylic acid. Polyacrylamide is used in food packaging, adhesives, coatings, and paper manufacturing. It is also used to reduce soil erosion and as a gel for electrophoresis in the laboratory analysis of protein and DNA structures.

They used such techniques as sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE), western blotting techniques and matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry.
To compare the reproducibility of quantitation using Coomassie staining versus the UV irradiation technique, serial dilutions of a PAGE protein standard were run on polyacrylamide gels in quadruplicate, visualized with UV irradiation and subsequently stained with Coomassie G-250.
The polymeric dispersants chosen were polyacrylic acid and polyacrylamide homo- and copolymers modified with hydroxyl and/or carboxylate groups.
