El Día de Acción de Gracias, en inglés Thanksgiving o Thanksgiving Day es un día de fiesta en Estados Unidos que se celebra el cuarto jueves de noviembre y que data de 1621. En esta fecha los primeros colonos norteamericanos (Pilgrim Fathers) celebraron un acto de acción de gracias por el éxito de su primera cosecha en suelo americano. La comida típica del Día de Acción de Gracias (Thanksgiving meal) consiste en pavo asado y pastel de calabaza. Muchas personas recorren largas distancias para estar junto a sus familias en este día.
En Canadá se celebra una fiesta semejante el segundo lunes de octubre, aunque no está relacionada con dicha fecha histórica.
