En Gran Bretaña el término prom es la forma abreviada de promenade concert, y hace referencia a un concierto de música clásica en el que una parte del público permanece de pie en una zona del auditorio reservada al efecto. La serie de conciertos de este tipo más conocida es la que se celebra cada verano en el Royal Albert Hall de Londres, y que tuvo su origen en 1895 a partir de una idea del director de orquesta Henry Wood. Actualmente convertidos en una institución nacional, destaca entre todas las actuaciones la llamada Last Night of the Proms en la que se interpretan piezas de carácter patriótico, entre otras de repertorio.
