a. The partially dried fruit of any of several varieties of the common plum, Prunus domestica.
b. Any kind of plum that can be dried without spoiling.
2. Slang An ill-tempered, stupid, or incompetent person.

To make a facial expression exhibiting ill temper or disgust: "Their faces prune at the slightest provocation" (James Wolcott).

The Leatherman Vista Pruner works great and has a small folding saw blade for larger branches.
Those with a garden can also rent leaf blowers, lawn mowers, tree pruners and hedge trimmers.
For example, hand pruners (yes, more than one because you will use a set for each specific task) are illustrated for left-handed use, others that fit smaller hands and some in which the handle rotates so as to reduce hand fatigue.
