Ringling's Palace on Wheels, the "Wisconsin" Railcar No afternoon session available Built in Chicago by the Pullman Company, the "Wisconsin" private railcar was ordered by John Ringling in 1904.
In 1898, the Illinois Supreme Court ordered the Pullman Company to sell the non-industrial land in the neighborhood to its inhabitants, determining that the Pullman Palace Car Company did not have the proper authority to provide nonmanufacturing services such as renting property.
Philip Randolph, who founded the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters and forced the Pullman Company and the railroads to accept it.
