Here we might note that architectural expressions of dual division and quadripartition are very evident in the organisation of much later (AD800-1500) Manteno towns (McEwan 2003) I suspect that these are indicative of broader Andean patterns of ranked social divisions whose origins will eventually prove to lie far back in the late Formative.
