Rhythm aural skills exercises generally involve the learner either creating a rhythm along particular strategy (for example: create a quarter-note beat in 4/4 time), or replicating one from a recording, using his or her hands, feet, voice, or all of the above.
Syncopations and quarter-note triplets may also challenge some students, but rhythms have otherwise been kept as simple as possible, while still maintaining the integrity of the originals.
The fastest of all variations, at least in terms of quarter-note speed, is Variation 1.
