Sir Igor, 67, is currently the President of the Queen's Bench Division of the High Court.
He was appointed as the first president of the Queen's Bench Division in 2005 and was given the additional role of Head of Criminal Justice last year.
Solicitors acting for Mr Heer, Birmingham-based Irwin Mitchell, have filed a writ in the Queen's Bench Division of the High Court against Jaguar (formerly British Leyland) claiming damages of between pounds 200,000 and pounds 300,000.
