RBS agreed this week to put pounds 282 billion in bad loans into the Asset Protection Scheme (APS), under which it shoulders the first pounds 60 billion in losses on the debts.
RBS on Tuesday said its Board Finance Director Guy Robert Whittaker will leave the bank later this year.
A smaller number of directors will be better able to engage effectively in the restructuring process for the RBS Group going forward," the bank said.
