Despite numerous studies, researchers have only closed down on one possible pathway-the renin-angiotensin system (RAS), which regulates blood pressure and fluid retention.
Chapter topics include: adverse affects of CE inhibitors, proper use in patients with chronic kidney disease, ACE inhibitors in coronary artery disease and preserved left ventricular systolic function, dual blockade of the renin-angiotensin system, improvement of utilization and adherence, and angiotensin blockade in pediatric chronic kidney disease, among others.
There are indeed two common types of blood pressure medicines which inhibit the renin-angiotensin system, ACE-inhibitors like Lisinopril, and angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) like Diovan.
