Another milestone in the history of Livestock Sector in Pakistan is the freedom from Rinderpest since 2007, a deadly disease of buffaloes and cows which in past like thousands of animals every year.
Islamabad, 22 May, 2009 (Frontier Star) -- Federal Minister for Livestock and Dairy Development, Mir Humayun Aziz Kurd has said that World Organization of Animal Health (OIE) declared Pakistan free from Bird flu (Avian influenza) and Rinderpest disease of cattle & buffalos and due to this decision the export of meat has been increased from 36.
The IAH's research focuses on diseases in cattle, sheep, horses and pigs including FMD, lumpy skin disease, rinderpest, African swine fever, swine vesicular disease, equine encephalosis and sheep and goat pox.
