1975 The institute is granted a royal charter of incorporation but is not allowed to include the word "chartered" in either its title or description of members.
The booklet has been created as part of the town's Centenary celebrations which celebrates 100 years of the town being granted the Royal Charter of Incorporation in 1905, thus attaining County Borough status.
Here are some key dates in the Institute's history: March 24, 1880 ( A Royal Charter of Incorporation is granted for the formation of a new body called the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
