When the real-life SS Morrow Castle sank a few weeks before opening, however, it was hastily rewritten by Howard Lindsay and Russell Crouse to be placed on a ship that does not sink.
So director Howard Lindsay, with the help of Russell Crouse, quickly rewrote Wodehouse and Guy Bolton's script to remove the shipwreck entirely.
