A region of Malaysia in northeast Borneo. Sabah was a British protectorate, originally controlled by the British North Borneo Company, from the early 1800s until it became part of Malaysia in 1963.

He said the cabinet, chaired by Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, referred the draft law to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to be signed ahead of referring it to the parliament.
Kuwait, October 28, SPA -- The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz sent today a message to Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah, the Kuwaiti Emir, on bilateral relations and means of enhancing them in all domains in addition to the regional and international developments and other issues of mutual interest.
The two sides underlined the need for upgrading bilateral relations to the level of political ties that President Bashar al-Assad and Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah are interested in developing.
