He recounted that on his visits to the US to meet senior policy makers, he had told them that countries like Egypt, Syria, Jordan and others do not support Saddam Husein but they also don't support the war because it will destabilise the region.
For everybody else in the world except perhaps for Americans and some Britons, the real reason for this war is neither 'regime change' as earlier touted by the White House nor the danger which Saddam Husein poses 'to the entire world.
African leaders fulfil the first category, African people (especially the poor starving souls) the second and Saddam Husein scares the daylights out of everyone.
