Ó Ruivivar and Bert Sagum founded the group, which is known for its diverse musical skills, comedy and impersonations, more than 40 years ago.
In contrast to Cluniac codes and the Rule which allowed mat, bedcover, blanket and pillow for the dressing of beds ("stramenta autem lectorum sufficiant matta, sagum et lena et capitale", 55: 15), the Anglo-Saxon list has only signs for bedcover (bedreaf, 89) and pillow (pyle, 90), which may point to a less comfortable way of life in English monasteries, compared to continental ones.
