While the words 'business hotel' in Japan are often synonymous with the image of dark and smoky rooms that would make even a seasoned salary man shudder, Super Hotel has been working since 2000 to change that image into one that feels welcoming not only to business men, but women and families as well.
Yasuo Fukuda, 71, a long-time salary man in the oil industry before serving as cabinet chief under two prime ministers, has taken over from resigning Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, the relatively youthful (at 53) but corrosively unpopular prime minister who left his party in perhaps its worst political mess since World War II, when he abruptly announced his desire to quit 11 days ago and checked into a hospital for stress-related stomach trouble.
Also on board are Ossie Davis (``Do the Right Thing'') as a wise, by-the-book salary man whose life disintegrated when he got downsized, and Tony Award winner Charles S.
